RECORDING WORK-BASED HOURS
Log Books
The total amount of hours recorded for a day should be the same as that worked. From the time of arrival at the job site to the time of departure, those hours shall be recorded daily in the appropriate section in your Apprentice Log Book. (insert picture of Logbook)
REPORTING WORK-BASED HOURS AND PROGRESS ON THE JOB THROUGH THE SUBMISSION OF:
Monthly Work Reports
The JLATA monitors and reports Apprentice work-based hours through the submission of monthly Work Reports. At the end of each month, the Apprentice will be responsible for completing and submitting their Work Reports to the JLATA office.
Field Progress Assessments
Apprentices are responsible for ensuring that their Supervisor evaluate their progress on the job by completing a Field Progress Assessment quarterly each year.
Apprentice hours and assessments are entered into the JLATA database and reviewed regularly by the JLATA Board to monitor progress in practical skill development and ensure Apprentices are receiving the work-based training the incorporates the full scope of the apprenticeship program.
Database Access
Apprentices can log into the JLATA database to view and keep track of work-based hours, Field Progress Assessments, Term status and technical training.
Progressing in Term Status
Apprentices start at Term 1 on the actual date of Indentureship, and are scheduled to advance in Term Status every six months. Apprentices that meet the minimum hours requirement for each Term level and have demonstrated the knowledge and practical skills for their current Term will advance to the next level.
